After a huge outing on Saturday, I'm actually done brooding on my dog for this year. I saw that new Christmas Carol movie and it's put me into the spirit of things. I liked it alot and I wouldn't mind seeing it a 2nd or 3rd time. Jim Carrey did a great job as Scrooge.

Also, I managed to go to the Arceus event today and cash in on an Arceus of my very own.

And on Friday, a certain something was waiting for me in the mail:

This is just posted for those who haven't seen it yet.

This month marks one year since my dog was put to sleep. It was November 7th when it happened. I knew it was his time to go, and I felt a little jaded afterwards. I remember all of those days when I took him for walks and how he would always bark at everyone that walked past him.

He was my first pet, and I still miss him. I know that the flow of time continues, but I can't help how I feel. At the start of 2009, I was almost at the point of avoiding the celebration of holidays, because it was going to be the first year without a pet. And some said that kind of choice would be stupid.

So...that's pretty much all I have to say.

Alright. First off, I'm currently on Fall break. I'm gonna make the most of it regardless of anything. I'm SO glad that it's October (a.k.a. Ninja Season). September has not been a kind month at all. So it's good to get some down time for onece in 6 weeks. This has given me time to work on some cosplays. Especially one I wish to have done by Halloween. Oh and even though the weather has gotten a little colder, I want to get MegaMan done.

I got my passport a couple of weeks ago. It means only one thing: INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL!!!! That's correct. I get to go to any country I want. So that means Japan, China, Scotland and England are all up for grabs. I do plan on going out of the country soon, but I will not tell you where I'm going....yet.

Lately, I've been reading one of the Majora's Mask mangas. As I looked through it, I thought that I should resurrect my Link cosplay in a new form. I've learned a lot since the first time I made it, so with what I know now, it will be better if I want to go through with it. Also, I got a copy of Bleach: Diamond Dust Rebellion. It looks really REALLY awesome. Can't wait to watch it.

That's it for now.

Reactor is now dead. I remember attending that convention for a full weekend back in 2005. I met some of the people I'm still friends with to this very day. Yeah. I remember buying that Konjiki no Gash Bell game that weekend. Yeah. I met a lot of great people, but somehow, I think we all knew that reactor was fading: The issues with the hotel, alcohol, space, and other stuff. I wonder what's gonna replace it.

So...Farewell, Reactor. You may be gone, but the positive side is that you've helped me make some great friends.

Nothing major has taken place yet, so I still have preparation time for exams and stuff. My Labor Day weekend is almost over, so I'm sort of prepared to head back to class. Though I had some studying to do this weekend, I still managed to get farther on that helmet.

Oh and I have the new Melty Blood game. It's pretty good since you get to choose your own style of fighting. Kind of like in Samurai Showdown. Yesterday, I had a BBQ and the food is delicious as always. There are leftovers, so I'm definately having some.

So...that's about it...and how is everyone doing?

First off, I'd like to report that I know have a Nintendo DSi. I can't wait to start playing games on it. This is gonna be great.

I've still had this fighting game slump lately. I'm losing over and over in every fighting game I play. Especially Tatsunoko vs Capcom. At first, I thought about getting rid of every fighting game I own since I've lost my edge. But some of my friends convinced me to keep them in my possession.. So I've been practicing a lot in Tatsu vs Capcom and I think I'm getting a little better. I've even practiced until I fell asleep at the controller. One of the things that's been happening is that I've been drawing the button combinations for the hyper combos. Thsi includes every tactic I've followed thanks to shoryuken.com.

It will soon be my final week of Summer vacation. Time to make the most of it.

Ok. I'm feeling more awake now, so here it goes:

Saturday, I woke up freakishly early for the voyage. I dressed in my Roto costume, pack my bag, and went out to Ohare. After I arrived, I met up with soulcrash and we both waited in line to enter the dealers room, which is the main floor for the convention. I did some shoping and found a Dinobot action figure from Beast Wars, a Pokemon special edition Gameboy color with Pokemon Gold, A TurboMan action figure from Jingle All The Way, Gundam Wing Box Set, and a whole slew of other things. As my roaming continued, I met Todd Bridges, Cerina Vincent from Lost Galaxy, and Emma Caulfield from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. They were all nice.

I later on met up with Pete, Andy and his girlfriend Paige. We hung out for a bit to look at different kinds of stuff. We later ran into Ed and it was okay. He wanted to get Emma Caulfield's autograph for his sister, but she wasn't there. We checked again and he was getting impatient. He wanted me to hang out with him longer as his uncle was going to be there. As I got more pictures, he vanished to go find his uncle. I wasn't going to wait for him anyway, so I thought of it as my chance to get away and get something to eat (I swear. That guy has no patience whatsoever -_-;). If he doesn't have patience to wait for me to finish with pictures, I won't have patience to wait for him.

The cafeteria wasn't bad. The burger I ate was actually good. Chibi_ghostie came by and we talked a bit. I met her boyfriend, Ian and he's actually a cool guy. After I ate, headed back to the convention floor, and ran into mewten. We hung out for a while and looked at the varous booths where many great things were beig sold. We even registered for Acen 2010 while we were there. I felt more free without Ed around.

Before the event closed in two hours, my dad came and picked me up to take me home. Overall, I had lots of fun. Roto went over very well and I'm glad I went. As I was leaving I learned that Ed was wondering where I was. I texted him to say I was going home (which I was). He wanted to stay all the way up to closing time, but I didn't. He would ditch me without telling me where the fuck he was going, and have the audacity to expect me to wait for him to explore the convention more? HA! I don't think so! Like I said, if he doesn't have patience to wait for me, he shouldn't expect me to have the patience for him!

To everyone I met up with, I hope to see you all again in the future.

Finally, for your viewing pleasure, I have pictures up.

http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/159476/

As you all know, I'm going to Wizard World this Saturday. But there's something that I have to come forward about.

My friend, Ed wants me to pick him up for the event on Saturday. But actually, I don't want him to go to the event with me. My reasons for this are that he acts like a douchebag for the most part. In the past when he was over my house, he's always been dishing out put-downs on my house and the games that I play, making it sound like nothing I do will be good enough for what he wants. In other words, he insults every aspect of my home and everything I have and do. So that's why I don't feel comfortable having him come to Wizard World with me.

This is something I've wanted to address for a while now. I just wish I could stand up to him and tell him to drop the "cool" act. When it comes to cool, he's the exact opposite. Ed's a jerk and that's why I've invited the guys over my house for video games and food without him knowing (and he tells me to keep him updated. I actually haven't). This is the same way with John (the guy I mentioned in an entry I made almost a year ago).

So there you have it.

It's been a week since my last post, so I'm making a new one.

Today was my 1st day back at work. Not much has changed since I left. The people whom I work with were still going about their routines. The best part is that the boss won't be in all week. The one thing I still hate about it, is working inside of a warehouse. It's a fucking dungeon, which feels like a volcano at the same time. Come August 7th, I'm going to make it my last day of working there this summer. At least I get paid a decent amount of money.

I got my Wizard World 2009 ticket. I think it's pretty cool how tickets can now be printed out after you pay for them. This will be my last convention for 2009 since I'll be busy with school when it starts up in late August. For Wizard World, I want to try a different cosplay since I've been cosplaying as Marth for two years in a row there, and since I don't have his sword anymore. I'm going there as a hero from Dragon Quest. During my time there, I will hunt down more rare action figures, especially Beast Wars (please let there be an Optimal Optimus Transmetal). Speaking of hunting and buying stuff, I need to save a good amount so I can preorder Melty Blood Actress Again.

Oh and yesterday, I got a Fushigi Yugi DVD. While I was watching it, I got a cosplay idea for 2010. I was thinking about- ACK! Sorry! I'm not supposed to say anything about it.

I'm back to having crazy dreams once again! After drinking Gatorade before bed AGAIN, I started to have a 3-part dream. The first part had me in Eugene, Oregon, where my penpal Jessica and all of her friends were in a field playing frisbee and just hanging out. They threw the frisbee to me and I managed to throw it into space by accident. Then, we're in side of a VERY NICE living room, where I was setting up my video games and we all watched Angry Video Game Nerd videos. We had a good laugh. Part 2: I wake up to find my deceased dog, waiting at my bedside, restore to full youth. He was playfully waiting for me to wake up. Part 3: We were walking through an elementary school, where we walked past a deceased actor, Charles Hallihan. he was alive and well, and a teacher there. Everything intertwined when me and everyone else were walking through a maze of tunnels.

That's it for now.

That's right!! I was at Otakon. From what I saw, it surpasses Acen, and even Fanime by a lot. It was THE most epic and enormous convention that I have ever been to in my 4 years of convention going.

Thursday: Me and Andy arrived in Baltimore on a standby flight after we missed the first flight because of traffic on the express way. We still made it. We checked into the hotel. After we unpacked and such, I walked over to the registration line and I couldn't believe how LONG it was! The one part I hated about it was that I had to wait in the hot sun with very little shade. I started to have panic attacks, until one of the people waiting in line gave me some sunblock and a bottle of water. That helped a lot. After all the waiting and frying, I was inside the building where I got my badge. Andy got his registration problem sorted out and we had dinner, then went to sleep.

Friday: I put on my brand new Super Saiyan Goku cosplay and Andy was Captain Gordon from Disgaia. We entered the convention center and I was very VERY shocked at the sight of all the people there. It was unbelievable. Unlike anything I've ever seen. An the dealer's room......GOOD GOD!!! I even met Aaron Granofsky, the guy in charge of fiberglassblades.com. We spoke a bit and he offered me his shiniest of OoT Hylian Shields. Did I purchase it? Find out in the next post. Andy checked out a lot of the panels and had fun there. As I ventured out to the Dragonball photoshoot, I ran into sushiwolf and we spoke a bit (it was nice meeting you, Emily). Later that night, I went to the Mell concert. I actually became a fan of her music, as I had never heard her music before. I met her and took a picture with her. I started to feel exhausted from walking around so much that day, so I headed straight to bed.

Saturday: Cosplayed as Roto. That morning, I headed straight to the dealer's room and bought a Rush action figure from MegaMan and I bought a Super Nintendo Mouse that came with the game, Mario and Wario. I then left and took more photos, then I ran into many familiar faces and I even met a number of people whom I had met a couple of years ago online. They were really nice. I checked the arcade to see for myself how good it was and it had so much space and SOOOOO many games to play. I've never seen anything like it. I then had one last run in the dealer's room, went to dinner, headed to the Iron Editor panel and roamed around some more. It was a weekend completed.

Sunday: Checked out of the hotel, got on the plane, and headed home for a home cooked steak dinner.

Overall, I was quite impressed with Otakon and I want to really REALLY head back there one day. To everyone I met this past weekend, I enjoyed speaking with you all, and I wish to see you all again. Pictures will be on the way, along with some video footage.

HOWEVER...............

The question is still in the air....did I buy that shield?

Also, when I saw Captain EO at Disney World.

So I think it's appropriate to post something memorable about him.

<lj-embed id="17" />

MAN1 The weather has turned from wet to scorching. I'm pretty much staying inside for the day since it's so damn hot out there. The bright side is that on the week of July 3rd, I'll have a week off from work. The work I do is good (refurbishing kits for teachers) but none of you will believe how BORING it is....

In other news, I've been on a Dragon Quest high lately. After spending some time playing that RPG, I am in the process of making my own live-action Dragon Quest mini series. Kind of like how that Legend of Neil series was made (that one was based on Legend of Zelda). No copyright intended. It's being worked on slowly, but it shall be done. All that's needed are a camera person, actors who want to be part of it, and good location for scenery purposes. This is gonna take a while to put together.

Since it's summer, here are the things I've been up to. First off, let me just announce that I got a summer job. I actually got hired (yes the natural order is broken. That's one curse down, two to go). It's a job in the Math and Science Department at a high school. It seems like a doable job so I'll take it.

Also, I have reached the end of Chrono Trigger, got a bit further in Onimusha 4, started on Mana Khemia, started watching an anime called Tears to Tiara (and it's pretty damn good), and I'm further in Secret of Mana.

As for cosplays, Goku is redone (yes the colors match this time). I've decided not to make the same mistake I made last time with it. It'll be completely different and ready for the summer's conventions. I've also looked into the Bristol Renn Faire. It seems like fun and I'm really tempted to buy a ticket for the event.

And I also got something I commissioned recently...

That picture is from the guy who made it. Below is a picture from the pictures that I took.

Sorry if the light is dim.

That's about it for now.

The New Punch Out

I just bought the game yesterday and I'm quite impressed with what I'm experiencing. All of the fighters are back from the previous Punch Out Games. And there are some new ones too. It feels good to see such a classic game get revamped completely.

The gameplay feels familiar because I remeber a lot of the patterns that have to be followed in order to strike fast and hard. It took me a while to get used to some of the newer characters that I've never faced before. Soda Popinski and Bald Bull still give me a hard time as always (fucking Bull Charge). And as a bonus, I got some boxing gloves modeled after the ones that Little Mac wears.

Also, in other news, I've finally started on MegaMan's leg armor. The buster gun will be finished. Just need more fiberglass and bondo. I never realized how hard it is to cut through thick plastic garbage cans (Which are what I'm using) even with the strongest of scissors. Even if the whole MegaMan cosplay doesn't turn out perfect, I don't care. You know why? It's because the leg armor will have been the first official armor pieces I have ever made. And it just feels good to finally get an actual start on it.
